About this deal

The fabulously exciting and surprisingly dark Temple of Doom is a veritable roller-coaster ride of a sequel.

The disc’s menus are once more identical to those on the previous Blu-ray release. The disc includes the following extras: Extras: If there’s any aspect of this UHD boxset that disappoints, it’s the extra features; and that’s only because there’s nothing new here. Everything from the trailers that accompany each film (three each for Raiders… and …Crystal Skull, two each for …Temple of Doom and …Last Crusade) to the seven behind-the-scenes documentaries and five featurettes bundled together on the bonus Blu-ray platter also featured in the 2012 Indiana Jones: The Complete Adventures BD boxset. Even so, while it would have been great to have some new material to mark Raiders of the Lost Ark’s 40th anniversary, there’s no denying that this was already a pretty comprehensive collection of goodies. timelines and travelogues, stills from the films, quotes, script excerpts, and one-sentence plot summaries for each film. The other big difference is colour grading. Right from the start of Raiders of the Lost Ark it becomes apparent that the photography now boasts a more balanced colour palette, removing the almost neon green foliage from the Blu-ray with something that looks a lot more natural. Similarly, the golden hue that was so obvious on Blu-ray has been toned down here, giving the film a much more earthy — not to mention authentic — appearance.

The missteps in this film were pretty comprehensive and pretty unforgivable. The story was littered with the usual plethora of thrilling stunt-driven setpieces, and frequently went deliriously over the top, but with CG came the curse of excess, and Spielberg appeared to just want to double-down in this respect. Have someone swinging through the trees? Sure. Do the Tarzan thing? No, too far. Have a CG gopher pop up at the start of the movie? Sure. Have them as a recurring motif throughout the movie? What, did they have some CG left over that they just had to use up before its Best Before Date? In fact, even the frequently, rightly, lambasted "Nuking the Fridge" moment is surprisingly tolerable, until the point where he rolls out and sees a... CG gopher. What were they thinking? Were Porgs unavailable at the time of filming? Indiana Jones (Harrison Ford) is a full-time professor of Archaeology and a part-time adventurer and treasure hunter. Or maybe it's the other Now then, a lot of you have asked when Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny, which was announced yesterday by Disney and Lucasfilm for Digital release on 8/29, is coming to physical media. Our sources say the street date for Blu-ray, DVD, and 4K UHD is likely to be set in late October or early November, and should be announced in the next 4-6 weeks. We’ll certainly post updates as they come in. Really, Crystal Skull continues to have impossible standards to meet, even when it comes to this 4K release. Raiders of the Lost Ark looks almost flawless in 4K, Temple of Doom's 4K presentation somehow, somehow, manages to look even more impressive, and Last Crusade's 4K image - despite a few moments - really isn't far behind them at all, and frequently looks utterly spectacular. Unfortunately, key to all three of these was arguably the period they were shot in and Douglas Slocombe's fabulous cinematography, as well as, of course, the mainstay of practical effects. Still Janusz Kaminski does a damn good impression, and there is a nice texture to the piece which leaves it frequently looking the part, even if those frustrating CG moments stand out like a sore thumb. Again, notthe fridge flipping a Fast & Furious number of times before it finally lands, but actually that bloody gopher which pops up after.artifact. The Nazis make a house call to her bar, too, and they're not quite as forgiving as Indy or willing to leave empty-handed. The ruthless Stephen has posted his thoughts on the new DC Universe animated movie Justice League: Warworld on 4K Ultra HD from Warner Bros. making it a prized possession for Hitler's war machine. An intercepted communique reveals that Nazi diggers have unearthed the ancient city of Missing from the 2-disc BD release of Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull in 2008 is: tightened to a significant degree. Dolby Vision radically strengthens the film's palette without betraying its natural state. It's a beautiful leap upward
