Once you open up the crate, your monster will pop up – thanks to a spring-loaded platform – which is a pretty fun way to have him introduce himself. If you haven’t a clue what Crate Creatures are then I recommend taking a look at my review from last year. I decided to choose Pudge because I had an inkling that Noah would like him the most and thankfully, I was right!

There is a crow bar attached to the side of the crate, Bear uses it to unlock the padlock and pushes the end into the lock on the lid.

There are three other Crate Creatures in the range to choose from too - Snort Hog who has a snotty nose, Blizz who is a snow monster and Sizzle who looks a bit like a red-beared viking (in my opinion anyway! They are a lot bigger than I imagined, which is great because itty bitty collectibles tend to become lost in our house. It seems like a great idea until you forget to record over it… What did we think of the Crate Creatures? Each creature comes with 45+ unique creature sounds and with its favourite food, which unlocks chomping sounds when placed in its mouth.

Although we’ve had very mild weather for October, the game is a good way to keep them busy active when it’s wet and miserable outside.Crate Creatures Surprise are new interactive monster toys that come in a crate locked with a plastic chain and padlock that you have to open with the crowbar fixed to the side of the crate. Overall, the boys have really enjoyed playing with their Crate Creatures – they’ve had lots of fun mixing the body parts up and have asked to add to their collection. The crate isn't just a piece of packaging that you throw away after you've opened it, it can be reused and played with time and time again. With this in mind, you can imagine how excited he was when he found out about Crate Creatures Bashers, they are smaller, more compact and there's more of them to collect. Crate Creatures are back, but this time with little mini versions of themselves, and with a couple of new friends!
